Up for auction is a very nice 1971 Datsun 240Z drag race car. This is a proven winner, it has been raced in Pro, Super pro, Super Street. 3 different drivers have won championships in this car. The car works very well. With a 406ci sbc and a glide it ran 9.50’s in the 1/4 mile.
The car is an original steel body, back halfed, with ladder bars, double adjustable rear shocks, 9″ Ford rearend, 2×3 rear frame rails, fuel cell, and dual batteries. The car has disc brakes front and rear. The front clip is stock Datsun, with struts. The car has a full cage, that is certified to 8.50 (good thru April 2018) and a swing out bar on the drivers side. The inside has all Autometer gauges, MSD ignition, B&M prostick shifter with electric shift. Brand new Kirkey aluminum race seat, aluminum dash, Painless switch panel.
The car will come less engine and transmission, but will include custom headers, mufflers, driveshaft, trans x member, radiator, with dual fans, complete fuel system.
The car has almost new Hoosier tires on all 4 corners, and Weld Racing Pro Star wheels. The paint on the car is nice, but it is not perfect, it has a few small flaws, and there is some cracks on the hood, at the scoop.
There are a few small things that need to be finished to race it. Seat needs to be mounted, Needs seat belts, and that about it. I tried to describe the car, as honestly as possible.
