This 1963 Mini Cooper as build to a race car around 2004 by PPD for someone who suddenly had to leave the country for work, and never raced the car. It was sold to the actual owner who was the only one ever to race the car. From the beginning, 2005, this car was exclusively raced with Midwestern Council in the Chicago area. The first logbook issued is missing, but the owner is looking for it. The two consecutive logbooks are with the car.The car was built with a detachable front clip, and a custom reinforced front sub frame. Custom dash featuring a programmable tachometer that is in full sight. Further to the right in the center of the dash, an oil pressure gauge, water temp gauge, oil temp gauge sit above a voltmeter and a fuel pressure gauge. The dash also has a bright low oil pressure warning light. The car has a full width Wink rear view mirror.

The steering wheel is detachable for making it easier to get in and out.A panel on the floor right of the driver seat has the switches for: Ignition, fuel pump, starter and fan. A brake bias adjuster is situated next to the switch panel.

On the floor on the passenger side is an Accusump, that was rebuild by Accusump in 2018. The handle is reachable for the driver, unless the safety belts are on. A receptable for the cool suit box is installed behind the Accusump and in front of the battery.The driver’s seat is a Kirkey aluminum seat. New six-point harness and window net were replaced in 2021. A handheld fire bottle is mounted to the roll bar on the passenger’s side.

The driver’s side has a window net. He doors have no windows; thin aluminum door covers were used. Front and rear windscreen are plexi glass, the front was replaced in 2018. Rear side windows are plexiglass as well.

The fuel cell is in the rear, and the flapper, cell and foam were replaced in 2018.

The car has an 1.50 inch roll bar with two side impact bars on the driver’s side, one on the passenger side and a front hoop under the dash.The battery is installed behind the passenger’s seat position. The car has a total loss electrical system, and has a starter button in the engine bay. This Mini is equipped with a high torque starter motor, and a Mirco Dynamics ignition module.The four corners all have hi-lo adjustable suspension installed. The front suspension has adjustable tie arms and lower arms. The rear suspension is equipped with adjustable toe and camber brackets. The engine was rebuilt in 2018 by Vintage Sports Car/Historic Race Car, using an MED Multi web crank kit ( keyless crank), which comes with lightweight high strength connecting rods (with ARP bolts) and oversized Omega pistons. New bearings, thrust washers and a rebuild head were installed on the gone through straight cut gear box. The wide lip block is 0.040 overbored. Pictures of the rebuilt are in the gallery. At that time new straight cut drop gears were installed as well. The transmission is an LSD unit. The drivetrain is equipped with a lightweight flywheel and competition clutch.This car is equipped with an early, hardwired, AMB transponder, that does not require a subscription!

Other recent replacements on this car were:New AP front calipers, new rear wheel cylinders, new Timken wheel bearings and EN24 drive flanges in 2019New set of Minilite 10×6 rims and new GAZ adjustable shock absorbers in 2021New 6 point harness and window net in 2020New MiniSport FAM3968C front springs in 2022New Goodridge flex lines, early 2022 Spares and extras with the car are a “clip in” passenger seat, a cool suit set up with shirt, used 4 times, and 8 used rims with mounted used Hoosiers. This engine has 8 easy Midwestern Council Vintage race weekends on it and the car has never raced in the rain. In between the races she has been stored in a dry garage. Oil and oil filter (Canton) were changed between every weekend. Redline 50 Racing oil was used. It was raced by an older lady racer, who never ever pushed it hard. The driver no longer passes the medical, hence the reason to sell the car.
