Open wheel race car, Swift Formula 2000 or Formula Continental

  • SWIFT EUROPE FORMULA CONTINENTAL (2000 cc Ford Pinto engine)
  • Chassis number SE-3-023
  • SCCA Certificate number 890183 issued 9 November 1989
  • Identity number on Log Book 19-3305

This car is ready to race right now. (Well with some new tires perhaps: current tires three years old with perhaps 15-20 heat cycles.). With many many spares.

Current owner is 6’3″ and 200 lbs; admittedly a very tight fit but possible.

Original log book indicates racing from January 1990 by R. Mc Daniel to January 1997.

Book 2 missing. Book 3 indicates racing from June 2011 by Mark Powell. Then raced by a few time by prior owner from May 2014 to July 2015.
Current owner ran the Swift two track days at Willow Springs Raceway in California and one track day at Buttonwillow California.
Prior owner said the engine was rebuilt and only had one or two weekends on it prior to transfer to current owner. Reportedly 140 Hp at flywheel. This car is very competitive and current owner could easily stay with a similar car at Buttonwillow last May. did major freshening of chassis, including resizing all attachment points of suspension, rebuilt steering rack and transmission. Rebuilt Fox reservoir shocks. Rebuilt and re-foamed the fuel tank. (Been using AV gas for fuel good up to 12 to 1 compression.) Rebuilt brake calipers. Rebuilt starter motor. And changed gearing to be suitable for Willowsprings and Buttonwillow.

There are an unbelievable number of spares. Including four wheels, extra rear wing assembly and front wings. Also all of the relevant pieces to build another rear wing assembly. The car has a very recently added diffuser see pictures. The Swift has a recently added Pi computer system with the device to hang from a fence to measure lap times. Plus the relevant books for the Pi System and books for the Hewland Transmission.

Also two additional aluminum nose structures in pix. Plus large aluminum pieces ( probably for the floor). A brand new uninstalled Autopower 6 point harness. A Swift floor jack for raising the vehicle. A Supertrapp muffler for sound restricted racing. Complete set of carburetor jets and float. Many new parts in boxes and bags. Numerous MSD parts , used but serviceable fuel and water pumps, clutch plates and flywheel and front discs and exhaust collector. There is a crack in the small windscreen and one extra wheel may have wrong offset.
