2010 Chevrolet HMS Impala NASCAR
- Chassis no. HMS-88-611
- Driven by both Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
NASCAR royalty, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is without a doubt one of the best known racing drivers across America. With a host of awards to his name, Earnhardt holds the record for the longest winning streak of the fan-voted Most Popular Driver Award โ winning every year between 2003 and 2017. To own a car driven by him on the track is to have sat with generations of NASCAR talent and greatness.
Driven by Jeff Gordon as #24 for the end of the 2010 season before being relegated to backup status, chassis 611 was then passed to the #88 team when Hendrick Motorsports announced a team swap. For the 2011 season, Dale Earnhardt Jr. was paired with former Gordon crew chief Steve Letarte, providing Earnhardt with a much more competitive edge.
The swap worked, as the #88 team placed 7th overall in the season, with 7 top 5 finishes and 12 in the top ten. Chassis 88-611, now in the National Guard/Amp Energy livery it appears in today, was the primary car at that seasons Jeff Byrd 500 at Bristol Motor speedway. At that race, Earnhardt Jr. climbed an astounding 11 places to finish ahead of teammates Jeff Gordon and Mark Martin.
Purchased directly from an employee of Hendricks Motorsports in 2012, car is sold with papers from Hendrick Motorsports. This 2010 Chevrolet Impala is a true piece of NASCAR history.
Owner recommends that any prospective buyer have any of the car “gone through” by a qualified race shop.
