This car was built by Spirit of Daytona Racing , the pro team that has been at the top of the Grand Am and Tudor series with their Corvette Daytona Prototype for many years.  This car and two sister cars were built from  bare tubs in 2005 and raced in the Grand Am Koni Challenge ( now the Continental Tire Challenge) in 2006-2007.  This was a no expense built that cost over $135,000 and used the best of everything with many custom/trick enhancements. The intent of the build was to convince Pontiac to build a small batch of these cars to compete with the Mustangs and Camaros. One car was wrecked in testing and was retired .  The other two were campaigned  but were unable to gain a podium so were retired after the 2007 season. This one had been  completely refreshed with test hours only when I purchased it in 2010. During the two seasons it ran at Daytona, VIR, Laguna Seca, Phoenix, Mid-Ohio, Lime Rock, and Homestead among others.  The car was never wrecked .
